Malia? If You're Reading This, Avert Your Eyes:

Hi guys! What have I been doing when I'm not updating? Painting:

So, some story on this painting. I took a little trip to Amsterdam this past fall, and stayed with my lovely friend Malia (not to be confused with Melina.) When the sad day of my departure came, I was planning on walking to the station to catch my train to the airport, but Malia wanted to see me off, but also had to be at work shortly after leaving me and wouldn't have time to walk with me. So naturally, in standard Dutch commuter fashion, she had me hop onto the back of her bike, and drag my suitcase behind me. Malia, it is also worth mentioning, is pretty pocket-sized.

It was the best possible goodbye to Amsterdam I could have had.

Anyway, so that's the story behind the painting. Today it's off to the printers, and then the post, and then into Malia's hands.

  3. Wow, you are so talented! I WISH I could paint- I've been wanting to take classes for some time now! I love the story behind it too. If I didn't know the story, I'd also think the two figures were departing for a grand adventure! xo, mel
